Fleeing police arrest:

Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: a male subject entered the Laurel County Judicial Center on Monday morning March 26, 2018 at approximately 11:57 AM. This individual was stopped at the metal detectors for additional inspection and found to be in possession of a keychain that contained a small clear baggie with a white powder residue and a glass vile that contained a white crystalline substance. This individual was told by Laurel County Sheriff’s court security officers that he was under arrest. This individual fled toward the exit door knocking over a sign and fleeing on foot. A description of the suspect was dispatched to County and city police officers and a short time later London City Police Chief Derek House along with Capt. Darrell Kilburn, Sgt. Travis Hurley, and Detective Danny Robinson, and Police Officer Eric Stallard located the suspect on Dixie Street in London detaining him . Laurel Sheriff’s Detective Sgt. Kevin Berry along with Lieut. Greg Poynter and CSO Danny Mitchell identified the suspect as John Wardup age 54 of Bert Allen Rd., London charged with fleeing or evading police – second degree – on foot; assault – third-degree – police officer is victim; possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – methamphetamine; possession of drug paraphernalia; disorderly conduct – second degree; and criminal mischief – third-degree.
