On November 3, 2018 at approximately 2 p.m., the Barbourville Police Department conducted a drug raid on a residence at 213 Daniel Boone Dr. in downtown Barbourville. The Police Department received several complaints on the residence for a high amount of traffic all hours of the day. Prior to Monday’s drug bust, officers set up surveillance and arrested eight people exiting the house, all who had drug charges pending or had drugs on their person.

Through those arrests, officers obtained a search warrant for the residence. While searching the residence on November 3, officers located two handguns, one which was loaded and in plain view, a bag containing suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
Jerry A. Stewart, 48, of Barbourville, was arrested and charged with Poss. of controlled Sub. 1st Deg. 1st Off. (meth), Poss. of a handgun by convicted felon, and Drug Paraphernalia. 


Kyle Broughton, 33, of Flat Lick, was arrested and charged with Poss. of controlled Sub. 1st Deg. 1st Off. (meth), Poss. of a handgun by convicted felon, and Drug Paraphernalia. Broughton also had an Indictment warrant out of Knox Circuit Court for Trafficking in a Cont. Sub 1st Deg. 1st Off (meth), Drug Paraphernalia, Poss/Use of Radio that sends/receives Police Messages, Persistent Felony Offender II, a 2nd warrant for Possession of Firearm by Convicted Felon.


Hunter Brown, 21, of Flat Lick, was arrested nf a Knox District Court Bench warrant for Failure to Appear.


All subjects were lodged in the Knox County Detention Center. Patrolman Jake Knuckles and Adam Townsley are continuing the investigation. Chief Winston Tye, Patrolman Josh Lawson, Chad Wagner, Elijah Broughton, Chase Henson, KSP Canine, and US Marshals assisted at the scene.
