(Pineville, Ky.) Friday afternoon May 10, 2019 at approximately 4:23pm Bell County Deputy Adam Southern was investigating a possible hit and run involving 42 year old William Justus Brock.

During the investigation Deputy Southern attempted to make contact with Brock. He fled on an ATV toward his Brock Hollow Road residence where Constable Keith Cox was waiting for him and detained him until Deputy Southern could arrive on scene.

While being questioned, Brock admitted to the deputy that he was driving the vehicle involved in the accident stating that the brakes had failed resulting in property damage to another person’s residence.

Further investigation prompted Deputy Southern to ask if there was anything illegal or stolen in his residence. After consent from Brock, the deputy conducted a search of the Brock Hollow residence and recovered the following items:

(2) two small bags of approximately 5.1 grams of a crystal-like substance believed to be Methamphetamine,

one large bag containing approximately 98.3 grams of crystal-like substance believed to be Methamphetamine,

one large bag containing approximately 425.5 grams of crystal-like substance believed to be Methamphetamine,

one round blue pill “2531” believed to be clonazepam,

approximately 0.52 ounces of green leafy substance believed to be Marijuana,

several empty distribution baggies in various sizes,

several empty syringes,

a pack of rolling papers,

a set of digital weighing scales coated with a matching crystal-like substance,

(4) four smoking pipes (3 glass 1 metal) with burnt residue throughout,

$584.00 cash was also seized from the suspect.

Also assisting with the incident were KSP Troopers Taylor Mills and Josh Messer who noticed an ATV over an embankment near Brock’s residence that was covered and camouflaged with kudzu vines.

After checking the vehicle identification number on the ATV with Bell County Dispatch, it was found to be reported stolen.

William Justus Brock was arrested and lodged in the Bell County Detention Center charged with:
Leaving the scene of an accident/failure to render aid or assistance,
Possession of Marijuana,
Possessing/buying drug paraphernalia,
Trafficking controlled substance 1st degree, 1st offense greater than 2 grams – Methamphetamine,
Receiving stolen property under $10,000.
Brock was also served three outstanding bench warrants for failure to appear in court.
