Carjacking – Shooting Suspects Apprehended; Charged with Multiple Felonies

On Friday, January 4, 2019, at approximately 4:00 a.m., officers responded to Spring Park on Loves Creek near Parker Drive where a male victim was held at gunpoint by a white male and black male suspect before he was able to flee from them on foot. One of the suspects shot at the victim as he fled. The victim’s stolen vehicle and the suspect’s descriptions were immediately broadcast to all officers. Within 20 minutes West District Officers located the vehicle behind America’s Best Value Inn at 5201 Family Inn Drive. Both suspects fled on foot. The first suspect, Darrell Quarterman, was immediately apprehended. Quarterman was in possession of a firearm. The second suspect, Darrell Arden, was located in the crawl space of 5104 Wilford Road and was apprehended without incident. Another firearm was located from the stolen 2007 Ford Edge.

Charges: Carjacking, Possession of a Firearm by Prohibited Person, Evading Arrest, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Quarterman is being held on a $26,500 bond.

Suspect 2:
Darrell Arden
27-years-old
Knoxville address
Charges: Carjacking, Felon in Possession of a Weapon, Evading Arrest, Aggravated Assault
Arden is being held on a $57,500 bond.
