Two arrested on Kentucky Hollow Road during investigation:

Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff’s Detective Sgt. Chris Edwards along with Detective Bryon Lawson, Sheriff John Root, Major Chuck Johnson, Deputy Daniel Grigsby, and Deputy Joey Robinson arrested two individuals off Kentucky Hollow Road, approximately 4 miles north of London while conducting an investigation in that area. The arrests occurred after a tan colored Toyota Corolla was observed being driven in a reckless manner in an attempt to avoid detection by law enforcement. When the vehicle stopped, the driver exited the vehicle and fled on foot but following a search in the area was apprehended a short time later and identified as Jimmy D. Burkhart age 21 of Kentucky Hollow Rd., London charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence – second offense; failure to wear seatbelts; fleeing or evading police – first-degree – on foot; reckless driving; failure of owner to maintain required insurance – first offense. In addition, a passenger in the vehicle was determined to be under the influence and identified as Flora Proffitt age 28 of East Bernstadt charged with public intoxication – controlled substances.
