3/1/19 just after 2 P.M. out on 11th street Detective Joe Holder makes contact with a man who matches the description of one shoplifting at Walmart. The suspect had Bench Warrants on him so Joe asked: “Do you have any contraband”? The Man answered: “Yes, some Meth and a Syringe”. Off to Pineville Mr. Eric Price of Middlesboro was taken. He was charged with:
Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree/1st Offense (Methamphetamine).
His Bonds total 1880.00 in which 1500.00 is “Cash”.
40 year old Mr. Price knows the Bell County Jail well. His past charges include but are not limited to:
Parole Violation X1
Possession of Firearm by Convicted Felon X1
Contempt of Court X2
Criminal Mischief X1
Terroristic Threatening X2
Drug Paraphernalia X2
Possession of Marijuana X2
Trafficking in Controlled Substance X2
Bench Warrant For Other Agency X4
Bench Warrant X14
As you look at Mr. Price’s mug shots over the years, you can see the spiral downward. As far as I could find, this is his first charge of possession of Meth. Now that he has partaken of the “Death Dust”. I fear his time grows short.
3/4/19 just before 11 P.M. Sgt. Floyd Patterson (Motown) serves a “Complaint Warrant” on Ms. Ashley Brown of Middlesboro. Someone says that she ripped them off for some cash. Well Motown picks her up without an issue. She already had bench warrants on her anyhow.
Motown, who gets off at Midnight, was listening to “Twenty Five Miles” By Edwin Star on the way to Pineville where Ms. Brown was booked in and charged with:
131 dollar “Pay or Stay” Bond, one Warrant with No Bond and 521.00 “Cash” on the Complaint Warrant. As you are already thinking, this is not Ms. Brown’s first showing at the Jail either. Her past charges include but are not limited to:
Probation Violation X4
Suspended Licence X1
Contempt of Court X6
Bench Warrant Other Agency X4
Possession of Marijuana X1
Possession of Controlled Substance 2nd Degree X1
Possession of Controlled Substance 3rd Degree X1
Aggravated Assault X1
Criminal Possession of Forged Instrument X1
Promoting Contraband X1
Public Intoxication X1
Receiving Stolen Property X1
Child Support X1
Bench Warrant X39
Ms. Brown is only 29 years old. As you look at her mug shots going back to her teen years, you’ll see the spiral. If it isn’t slowed or halted, I can’t imagine what her life will become. If she keeps up the same Bench Warrant Pace she’ll probably be the Bell County all time Leader in another 10 years.
Motown got back to the Boro almost as fast as Harvey can finish a 12 inch Pepperoni Pizza. I don’t think everybody likes the new shift structure.
Thank You Joe Holder and Motown for doing your job in bringing them in. The City is lucky to have brave individuals such as yourself.
