Laurel deputies arrest two on drug charges:
Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff’s Deputy Allen Turner along with Deputy Gary Mehler, Deputy Travis Napier, Sgt. Greg Poynter, and Detective James Sizemore arrested two individuals on Thursday night January 3, 2019 at approximately 6:37 PM. The arrest occurred in London at a motel after deputies were dispatched to a disturbance complaint there. When deputies arrived at the scene the occupants of the room locked the door to the room and refused to open it. Management at the hotel allowed deputies to make entry where two subjects were found in possession of Suboxone, Neurontin, and meth and one of the two individuals was wanted on 2 outstanding Clay County warrants. The two arrested individuals were identified as:
• Charity Cohorn age 25 of SOL Hollow Rd., Manchester charged with possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense.
• Joseph W. Bowling age 35 of SOL Hollow Rd., Manchester charged with possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – methamphetamine; tampering with physical evidence; possession of drug paraphernalia. – This individual locked himself in the bathroom and after arrest it was determined that this individual had hidden methamphetamine in towels there. In addition, this subject was charged on a Clay Circuit Court bench warrant of arrest charging drug court violation regarding charges of possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense; possession of drug paraphernalia; public intoxication – controlled substances; possession of marijuana. Also this subject was charged on a second Clay Circuit Court bench warrant of arrest charging drug court violation regarding a charge of Bail jumping – first-degree.
