Claiborne County Sheriff David Ray announces a roundup of drug dealers began early Friday morning, May 18 as a result of the Claiborne County Grand Jury handing up 15 sealed indictments against individuals in drug-related charges. The charges involve the illegal sale and delivery of various drugs including methamphetamine, opanas, hydrocodone, Xanax, suboxone and clonazepam. One suspect has been indicted for TennCare Fraud.

Officers of the Claiborne County Sheriff’s Office and the New Tazewell Police Department have fanned out across the county searching for and arresting those indicted. Those arrested will appear in criminal court on May 29 for arraignment. More indictments are expected soon.
