From The Tazewell/New Tazewell Fire Department:

On Thursday around 11:30 A.M. we were dispatched to assist Springdale fd with a house fire. One unit from Springdale arrived shortly before our engine and found a single family home with smoke coming from the rear of the home. Once on the scene we grabbed our hand tools and scbas and assisted the Springdale unit with a handline he had deployed and entered the residence and extinguished the fire. South Claiborne and North Tazewell fd was also requested for manpower. The fire was under control in about 20 minutes with minimal fire damage and the main issue being smoke damage. A small cat was pulled from the home during the fire and appeared to be fine at the time we cleared the call and went back in service. We want to thank EMS Powell valley coop and the other fire units on the scene for their good teamwork and sheriffs department. Training pays off in these situations that we prepare for. Remember to close the door before you doze.
