The Polygraph News has learned from an elected Union County official that Union County Jail Administrator, Jesse Ellis, was placed on administrative leave without pay for four consecutive days by Sheriff Billy Breeding. Mr. Ellis allegedly made a non-authorized purchase with a Union County debit card totaling approximately $100 dollars.

While we cannot confirm the exact item or items purchased until we are provided open records by the Union County Finance Office, the official says he reached out to the sheriff and indicated that Ellis’ privileges to the county’s expense card were revoked. He also said the jail administrator had returned to work.

On Wednesday, September 12th, our newsroom sent a text message to the sheriff in order to obtain an official statement and left a voice mail message with the County finance director. At this time our text and call have not been returned.
