The Joker:

1/28/19 Just before 9 P.M. A call comes into dispatch of a vehicle stuck in the ditch and the operator seems “intoxicated” out on South 46th Street (Also known as Drug Avenue). Officer Christopher Barnes (Big C.) answers the call and radios for back up. Lt. Edward Myers (Mr. Serious) and the Speedy Joe Holder roll in. Just before the Bad Boys get there the vehicle (A White Pickup Truck With Tn. Tags) got out of the ditch and carried on. Big C. caught up and made the stop with Joe Holder and Mr. Serious right behind.

When Big C. made contact with the driver he could smell the odor of alcohol and see that the driver’s eyes looked like two fried eggs in a slop bucket (Bloodshot). Big C. got the driver out of the vehicle and performed a road side sobriety test (Also known as the Jail House Rock). Well the ole boy tried but he just couldn’t dance in the moonlight and was put in the back of the cruiser. After being searched the gentleman had …as you all know…some meth and a syringe.

Next lets turn to the passenger. A young lady was also asked to step out of the vehicle. While she was in the process Big C. noticed that she opened the top of her pack of smokes and tried to dump them in the floor board. She also tried to “throw something” as she got out. In the floor board was a joint. Joe Holder caught the bag of meth she tried to throw before it hit the ground. I mean really, did she think she could throw as fast as Joe Holder can move?

Needless to say Mr. Serious stayed stoic as a Presbyterian through all of this. Joe Holder, whose still pissed about Christmas Eve, jogged back to the station. It took 24 seconds. Big C. got the lovely couple down to Pineville faster than Harvey can finish a Frosty.

Now lets get to the meat of the matter. Starting with 47 year old Ms. Regina Hampton of Middlesboro who was charged with a Bench Warrant, Possession of Meth and Possession of Weed. She sits in the Bell County Jail under a 143.00 dollar “pay or stay” on the Warrant, no bond on the Weed Charge and 1500.00 “Cash” bond on the Possession of Meth Charge. As we all know by now, bonds don’t mean a damn thing in Bell County.

Ms. Hampton knows more about the Bell County justice/injustice system than most folks. She’s been booked into the jail 23 times since 1996 by my count. Her past charges include but are not limited to:

Contempt of Court X5
Possession of Marijuana X2
Parole Violation X1
Burglary 2nd Degree, Forced Entry X2
Shoplifting X3
Aggravated Assault X1
Possession of Schedule 2 Narcotic X1
Bench Warrants X4
DUI X1
Suspended Licence X1
Possession of Controlled Substance 2nd Offense X1
Possession of Meth X1

There may be more charges that were taken down by the website. The arrest is listed but no photo or charges are available.

Our Driver, is 53 year old Mr. Randy Buell listed as living in Tazewell Tn. was charged with Dui, Possession of Meth, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He also currently hangs out at the Bell County Jail with no bonds listed on any charges. Mr. Buell is a long time veteran of the Bell County justice/injustice system. His past charges counting 16 bookings since 1995 include but are not limited to:

Terroristic Threatening X3
Criminal Mischief 2nd Degree X1
Alcohol Intoxication In Public Place X3
Aggravated Assault 4th Degree Spousal Abuse X1
Contempt of Court X2
Suspended Licence X1
Criminal Trespass X1
Disorderly Conduct X1
Resisting Arrest X1
Possession of Controlled Substance 3rd Degree X1
Tampering With Physical Evidence X1
Bench Warrant For Other Agency X4
Bench Warrant X1
Possesion of Meth X1
Drug Parphernalia X1
Murder-Non-Family-(Gun) X1
DUI X7

Ironically, Mr. Buell was also charged on the above arrest for “No Insurance”. Do you really think he could get any? I often wonder how these individuals with 7 DUI even obtain a vehicle. Do you think he’d care if he ran over your child ?

I guess you can see why Big C. called for back up. The above couple just aren’t nice folks. They are threats to the public. Real threats. How long does this go on? When are the elected, not elected, juries, paid by the state, not paid by the state, bleeding heart liberals and ardent conservatives, going to put a stop to this? THE PUBLIC IS IN DANGER !!! NOW DO SOMETHING !!! STOP SIDING WITH THE CRIMINALS !!! The public is the real victim here.

Sources tell me that New Middlesboro Mayor Rick Nelson wants to hire more policeman. I think that is an excellent idea. Is it because of the high crime rate or because the retention rate is bad due to the stress of having to deal with the same criminals over and over and over again? Is it because of upcoming retirements? We’ll have to wait for mayor Nelson to answer those questions, but one thing we know…The Boys in Blue are up to their necks in career criminals in the Boro and the justice/injustice system don’t seem to be helping. I wonder how long it will be before the above lovely couple are out and about driving through your child’s school zone in the Boro?

Thank You Big C., Mr. Serious and Joe Holder.

Go Team Middlesboro!!!
