KPD investigating possible homicide at Greenfield Lane

On the evening of Sunday, October 6, investigators with the Knoxville Police Department received information regarding a possible homicide at the 2300 block of Greenfield Lane.

Upon arrival, investigators spoke with the residents, Tommy Rose (DOB: 8/12/57), Deborah Gister (DOB: 3/18/78) and Christina McCormack (DOB: 12/30/70), who denied any knowledge of any such incident.

After obtaining a search warrant of the property, a deceased body was found wrapped in a tarp inside a shed on the property in a mummified state, suggesting that the body had been there for multiple weeks. Identification of the victim is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

The body was transported to the Regional Forensic Center. Until an autopsy is completed, a cause of death cannot be determined.

The three residents were all charged with abuse of a corpse and tampering with evidence at this time.

The investigation is ongoing and further updates will be made as they become available.
