Arrest while serving court order:
Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff’s Detective Kyle Gray along with Deputy Brandon Broughton, Bailiff Paige Vanhook, and Bailiff Jerry Poynter arrested Paula Joy Johnson age 41 of London on Thursday afternoon March 15, 2018 at approximately 2:10 PM. The arrest occurred off Maple Grove Road, approximately 5 miles southwest of London after deputies who were accompanied by social services traveled to a location there to serve an order from Laurel Circuit Family Court to remove a juvenile from the residence. Upon arrival at the scene deputies determined that a female subject there who fell out the front door of the residence was under the influence. Deputies also located drug paraphernalia including a glass pipe in possession of the suspect and learned through investigation that she had allegedly smoked methamphetamine while the juvenile was in the residence. Paula Joy Johnson was charged with public intoxication – controlled substances; four counts of possession of drug paraphernalia; wanton endangerment – second-degree. In addition, this subject was charged on a Laurel district court bench warrant of arrest charging direct contempt regarding an abused or neglected child. Also, this subject was also charged on a second Laurel district court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court on traffic violations.
