Florida fugitive arrested:

Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: on Tuesday night July 3 Sheriff’s Deputy Josh Scott and Sgt. John Inman with assistance from London city police arrested a male subject off US 25 approximately 1/2 mile north of London following a foot chase of an individual that had been reported trespassing at an open air fruit stand there. The individual gave the name of John McNeal age 38 of London. This individual was lodged in the Laurel County detention Center. He had been in the company of Angel McCulley who was also arrested for trespassing. Following a continuing investigation into that arrest, Laurel Sheriff’s Detective Sgt. Chris Edwards and Capt. Kevin Berry developed information that this individual had used someone else’s identity to avoid detection and was actually a wanted fugitive from Florida. On Thursday, July 5, 2018 Detective Sgt. Edward’s determined the individual’s correct identity learning that he was John Gabriel Wagner age 39 Of Robinson Rd., London and was wanted by Brevard County Florida Sheriff’s office for grand theft of a motor vehicle. Brevard County Sheriff’s office in Florida advised they will extradite this individual back to Florida. In addition, the Laurel County Sheriff’s office charged this individual with theft of identity of another without consent and giving officer also identifying information. This individual continues to be lodged in the Laurel County detention Center.
