UPDATE: Search Continues For Violent Shooting Suspect

On April, 14, 2019, at about 7:05pm, KPD Officers responded to a shooting in the 5000 block of Rowan Road. Upon arrival it was found that two victims were suffering from gunshot wounds. Both victims, an adult female and a two-year-old female, were transported to the University of Tennessee Medical Center with serious injuries. During the Officers investigation it was determined that the suspect, Victor Parsons, was wanted out of DeKalb County Georgia for an early morning murder that occurred in their jurisdiction. The suspect and vehicle description were quickly relayed to Officers and a KPD Officer located it on Cherry Street and attempted to initiate a traffic stop, at which time the suspect refused to stop. He struck a thirteen-year-old male with his vehicle who was riding a scooter on Linden Avenue. That male is currently being treated for serious but what appears to be non-life threatening injuries at a local hospital. The suspect was able to elude Officers and abandon his vehicle in an alley off of College Street and flee on foot. Officers quickly set up a perimeter and used K-9’s as well as a Bloodhound from the Union County Sheriff’s Office in search of the suspect. However, as of 12:45am the suspect is still at large. Multiple KPD Officers, Investigators and surrounding agencies are continuing the search. The suspect is to be considered armed and dangerous. Please do not approach, and immediately call 911.

Anyone with information on the suspect’s whereabouts is asked to call the KPD Crime Hotline at 865-215-7212 or 911. Callers can remain anonymous.

The investigation is on-going, and in addition to the murder charges from Georgia, KPD Investigators intend on charging him with multiple felony charges locally.
