Man suffering from life-threating injuries after stabbing at Victor Ashe Park, suspect in custody

At around 1:19 p.m. on Friday, October 11, KPD officers responded to a stabbing at Victor Ashe Park. Upon arrival, officers located a victim suffering from multiple stab wounds. They also detained the suspect, 58-year-old Frank Kincaid, without incident. On scene, EMS and Knoxville Fire Department personnel tended to the 30-year-old male victim, who was transported to the UT Medical Center with what appeared to be life-threatening injuries.

The preliminary investigation revealed that the two parties are known to one another and were attending a family event at the park, when an argument turned physical.

Kincaid is being charged with Attempted 1st Degree Murder.

The KPD Violent Crimes Unit responded to the scene and is currently investigating the incident. Updates will be provided when they become available.
