On Saturday, April 13, 2019 Bell County K-9 Deputy James Taulbee took a report of 45 year old Christopher Steven Hembree taking a woman’s vehicle, that he was not married to, at her residence without consent damaging property in the process. The woman also had an active Bell County order of protection taken out against Hembree from an earlier incident.
On Friday, April 19, 2019 Deputy Taulbee arrested Hembree at a residence on Cannon Creek Road charging him with theft by unlawful taking auto – $500.00 or more but under $10,000, violation of a Kentucky EPO/DVO, and criminal mischief – 2nd degree.
During the arrest Deputy Taulbee discovered, via Bell County Dispatch, that Hembree not only had two active bench warrants – one out of Knox County Kentucky for charges of drug paraphernalia possession and operating on a suspended license and another for assault 4th degree dating violence in Bell County – but he is also a fugitive from Scott County Virginia for failure to appear on a felony case.
Christopher Steven Hembree was lodged in the Bell County Detention Center and is being held on a combined total cash bond of $15,743.00
