WALLAND WOMAN ARRESTED FOR POSSESSING HEROIN IN A DRUG FREE ZONE
MARYVILLE, TENNESSEE – Blount County Sheriff James Lee Berrong said an investigator with the Fifth Judicial Drug Task Force charged a Walland woman with possession of drugs after deputies found heroin and methamphetamine in her vehicle.
Sarah Lynn Richter, 32, of Husky Ridge Road, Walland, is charged with possession of a Schedule I controlled substance (heroin) with intent to resell in a drug free zone. She is being held on a $20,000 bond pending a hearing in Blount County General Sessions Court at 9 a.m. May 23.
At around 10 a.m. this morning, Sheriff’s deputies responded to suspicious activity at Amerine Park on Amerine Road. When they approached the lone vehicle at the park, a silver Toyota sedan, they spoke to Sarah Richter, who told deputies she was making a list. Ricter gave deputies permission to search the vehicle, and when they did, they found a box containing 1.8 grams of black tar and powder heroin, .1 grams of crystal meth, as well as drug paraphernalia.
The Fifth Judicial Drug Task Force is comprised of deputies and officers with the Blount County Sheriff’s Office, Alcoa Police Department, and Maryville Police Department.
